They take him on board, and one of the Vikings known as Hermold decides to take him under his wing. He names him Arak, the Son of Thunder. Arak remains with the Viking kinsman for many years and attends them on numerous raids against Christian monasteries. On one of the raids, Sigvald salvages a broken jeweled cross, because it reminds him of a weapon he once wielded. Years pass, and Sigvald's crew encounter a sorceress named Angelica. Savage monks from a nearby island slaughter Sigvald's Vikings while Angelica watches on. The only ones to survive are Sigvald and Arak. But Angelica summons a giant sea monster, which then consumes Sigvald. Arak takes Sigvald's cross and drives the beast away with it (using it as a spear). He parts ways with Angelica and strives off to make his own fortune. NOTE: Arak's true name is Arak Red-Hand or Bright-Sky-After-Storm. NOTE: Arak first appeared in Warlord (vol. 1) #48."

First Appearance of Angelica of Albracca

Origin of Arak I

FEATURES

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0765/7193/4876/files/data_66447856-35c1-4d78-ab83-0eea218f2ba8.jpg?v=1790364638
https://pleasantviewcomics.com/products/arak-son-of-thunder-1-1981-dc-comics-1st-app-8-0-comic-book-a76-177
